DESCRIPTION:
This 3D artistic model depicts the potential future of Martian colonisation.
It has been stylised for aesthetic purposes; however, a thorough research has been also applied. It displays some common knowledge (common for people who are into the topic) as well as artist’s hopes and ideas about the fresh start of human race on the Red Planet. There is an Elon Musk theme, as he has revived the notion for the human transportation to Mars and, eventually, permanent presence there. I’m convinced that China will be his biggest rival and/or partner in achieving these goals. The Colony is equipped with all the necessary facilities not only for mere survival in the harsh Martian conditions. The Colony is portrayed as a luxurious and desirable place to visit, work and even stay indefinitely. This story takes our guests around the main dwelling, explaining the function of each place in spirit of adventure and hope to attract more Earthlings to travel there. This dynamic and futuristic sculpture was created to open people’s mind to the possibility of such a big leap during our lifetime. The artist’s role is to inspire and envision the future. I’d like to believe that the ‘Colony on Mars 2071’ serves that purpose as well as entertains and informs.
